Throughout the first week, our main excursions were for dinner! Obviously, I'm not much of a foodie, but the trips were super fun and usually with the whole group.
On Monday night, I went out to dinner with TTQ and Hannah. TTQ picked out the place for us, so I'm not sure where is was. We had a traditional chinese meal. Afterwards he showed us one of malls and bought his first selfie stick.
Selfie!
One Tuesday night we went out for dumplings, at a place highly recommended on the chinese version of yelp, dianping. We devoured 110 dumplings, for 200 RMB- about 30 USD. Afterwards we found this outdoor gym and thought it was hilarious.
On Wednesday night, we went out to dinner at beixinqiao (that's the station we got off at, not sure what the place was called). It was a very cool place, even if it was rainy! There were a lot of foreigners around. We ate dinner on the main street, but explored a lot of the hutongs.
Afterwards we went to a bar in one of the hutongs (alleyways). We had a bit of an adventure finding it and ended up in some dark corners. The bar was Called capital spirits, and was definitely aimed at foreigners. It specialized in Baijiu, a very strong Chinese liquor. They even had some snake Beijiu (you could see the snakes in it eeekk).
